with tapering blade of hollowed flattened diamond section, heavy copper alloy hilt comprising ovoidal dished guard engraved ‘W:C:’ over ‘G:C:No.115’ beneath, integral circular knuckle-guard above engraved with a lion rampant between stars, flanked by side-bars to two scrolled bars behind and to the rounded pommel by a bar above (perhaps replaced, the pommel drilled with two holes), down-bent rear quillon and writhen leather-covered grIp bound with a strand of twisted copper alloy wire, 100.2 cm blade
