Our purpose
Our purpose is to apply world-class expertise to pictures and objects worth £100 upwards. We always make time to share our knowledge and research, listen to our clients, and offer advice.
Our story
Olympia Auctions was founded in 2005 by Thomas Del Mar in the heart of London’s Kensington Olympia. We have created the auction house we would choose if buying or selling a treasure of our own.

Olympia Auctions comprises a range of expert-led, specialist departments. These include Arms and Armour and Militaria, Clocks, Jewellery, Silver and Watches,
Also, we have established Paintings and Works on Paper and European Sculpture and Works of Art,, Chinese and Japanese departments, and European Ceramics and Glass, Silver and Objects of Vertu departments. We offer excellent expertise in artworks from many regions, cultures and genres including Islamic Works of Art and Indian Works of Art.
Contemporary and Modern art specialisms at Olympia Auctions include British Modern Art, Post-War and Contemporary Art, Modern Indian Art and Modern and Contemporary African and Middle Eastern Art.
We hold regular auctions in traditional specialist areas and developing new ones. Our auction calendar includes Chinese and Japanese Works of Art; European Works of Art, Objects and Silver; and more recent additions to the calendar include From the Studio: Works from Artists’ Estates, and London: Ancient and Modern. We also have regular sales in Fine Antique Arms, Armour and Militaria; Indian, Islamic, Himalayan and South-East Asian Art; Jewellery and Watches.
We hold live auctions at our Gallery in West London. Some auctions are timed and are therefore open to bids over several days.
Every item is illustrated online and are displayed at public exhibitions in the Gallery. We are also firm believers in the enduring value of an illustrated, printed catalogue.
Private collections with single owners
As well as curating items from various collections, we’re also known for presenting single-owner collections to the market. These single-owner sales present exceptional works together with the stories and provenance that give them context.
