of regulation pattern, with fullered blade etched over half its length on both sides with scrolling foliage framing crowned ‘VR’ cypher above the retailer’s details on one side, and above the owner’s crowned conjoined ‘VA’ monogram framed by foliage on the other, hilt pierced and chased with symmetrical foliage and retaining its leather sword-knot, and wire-bound fishskin-covered grip, in its brown leather-covered field service scabbard with nickel-plated locket and chape (old surface and rust patination overall), 88.5 cm blade
