with slightly curved fullered double-edged blade, iron hilt comprising straight cross-piece, shallow elliptical pommel, the upper portion chiselled with scrolling monsters on each face, moulded grip, in its wooden-lined brass scabbard with bud-shaped finial and locket decorated with ropework, and the latter with an inner loop for suspension
