the curved blade (some old staining) with false double edge towards the point, steel quillon-block with gold-damascened borders and comprising pointed langets, waisted flat quillons widening towards the tips and gold-damascened with foliage along the top and bottom flats, border engraved gilt grip-strap, and ivory grips each retained by two gilt florets on both sides, the pommel with gilt-mounted hole for a sword-knot, in its reeded wooden scabbard covered in black leather tooled with scrollwork over stringing, steel locket and chape with etched watering and with gold-damascened borders en suite with the hilt, the rounded suspension mounts each with fixed gilt suspension loop formed as a double arabesque, 84.5 cm blade
