AN OFFICER'S FULL DRESS UNIFORM AND ACCOUTREMENTS OF THE QUEEN'S BAYS (2ND DRAGOON GUARDS)

the fine scarlet Tunic named to Captain ES Chance, with white cloth facings and piping, the collar edged with regimental gold lace and bearing KC collar-badges, gold cord decoration to sleeves and skirt-slashes, and gold shoulder-cords, in near very good condition; together with Queen's Bays overalls with broad white cloth stripes; a scarlet mess jacket with narrow white shoulder-cords and KC badges to the roll collar; a pouchbelt bearing wide gold lace of regimental "Ess and Vellum" pattern and white cloth edging; a "Wavy" pattern gilt buckle, tip and slide (pouch absent); and a waistbelt of the same lace, with a large oblong frosted waist-plate, mounted with EviiR cypher in white-metal between oakleaf sprays above the royal motto scroll, and fitted with matching detachable sword-slings

Captain Edward Seton Chance was the Adjutant of the Bays in August 1914. He served in the retreat to the Marne and was wounded in September 1914. He was killed in action in May 1918 while acting as CO to the 6th Battalion the Leicestershire Regiment.
