A SILVER AND BRASS INLAID COPPER WATERPOT, TANJORE (THANJAVUR), TAMIL NADU, INDIA, 19TH CENTURY

the typical lota form profusely decorated in 'swamy' style, the sides with a register of repousse silver panels depicting Vishnu, Indra, Krishna, Durga, Siva Nataraja, Subrahmanya, Siva on Nandi and Bhairava, brass inlaid beadwork, rosette and leaf borders above and below, 17cm high, 19.5cm diam.
