the gilt seeded rectangular plate with burnished edges mounted with an Imperial crown above a white-metal laurel wreath bearing ‘BENI BOO ALI’ battle honour scroll to the junction, to the centre a raised 8-pointed star topped with gilt garter strap inscribed ‘REGIMENT NATIVE INFANTRY’, enclosing a gilt shield mounted with burnished white metal ‘XVIII’, two hooks and two studs to reverse, complete with leather backing
