with curved blade (old rust patination) fullered along the back on each side to the double-edged point, the ricasso on one side stamped ‘KNECHT’, steel hilt comprising recurved side-bar swept-up to join the knuckle-guard, the latter hooked into the pommel-cap with back-piece in one, rear quillon with small lobed terminal and grip in imitation of wire binding, in its black leather scabbard (old crazing) with steel locket and chape, the former with frog-hook, 64.0 cm blade
