AN UNUSUAL GERMAN OR NORTH ITALIAN BURGONET, THIRD QUARTER OF THE 16TH CENTURY

with heavy two-piece skull rising to a prominent roped comb extended to form a pointed peak and neck-guard each with turned and roped edge, the latter with tubular plume holder, expertly replaced hinged bluntly-pointed cheek-pieces with main borders en suite with the peak and neck-guard, and each pierced with five small holes over the ear (some old surface pitting), 30.5 cm high
