Born in Hassakah, Omran Younes began his artistic journey after graduating with a Bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus in 1998, later earning a Master's degree in Fine Arts in 2000. Younes's influence stretches across both the Middle East and the United States, where his work has been exhibited. He was awarded first prize at the 3rd Annual Youth Competition in Damascus, affirming his reputation as an accomplished artist.

Younes is known for large-scale canvases that immerse viewers in the complexity of human emotions and experiences. His paintings capture subtle details, revealing deep insight and empathy toward his subjects. Throughout his career, he has displayed notable versatility in expressionist painting, dedicating each series to distinct themes and continuously exploring new avenues of artistic expression.

Emerging from Syrian modernism, Younes respects his artistic heritage yet carves out his own unique style within contemporary art. His works combine bold social commentary, sharp observation, and refined technique, illustrating his steadfast dedication to innovation and self-expression.

Having been featured in exhibitions throughout the Middle East and in the US, Younes has received critical acclaim at home and abroad holding solo exhibitions at art spaces such as Ayyam Gallery, Beirut and Zara Gallery, Amman. He was featured at the Virginia Commonwealth University Gallery in Doha alongside such prominent Arab artists as Dia Azzawi, Mona Hatoum and Youssef Nabil. His work is housed in collections across the Arab world, including the Atassi Foundation and in 2022, he featured in the Syrian Pavillion at the 59th Biennale Arte di Venezia.
