â’¶ AN INDIAN SWORD (KHANDA), 18TH CENTURY

with European broad curved blade double-edged towards the point, formed with a pair of long slender fullers on each face, iron hilt extending over the forte with a pair of chiselled langets decorated with foliage, pierced figure-of-eight shaped guard with beadwork border, characteristic broad knuckle-guard and cup-shaped pommel, the latter with attenuated button and integral grip (areas of rust)
