with broad tapering blade of flattened-diamond section, iron hilt comprising a pair of long tapering langets with pierced borders, broad curved rectangular guard with down-turned brim, pommel pierced en suite with the guard and fitted with a series of rattles, and later copper button (extensive pitting), 82.3 cm blade
