A CHINESE SWORD (LIUYEDAO), QING DYNASTY

the single-edged blade with triangular section, tempered edge, gently curving from the tip until the lower third by the forte, thick spine tapering gradually from the forte to the tip, single fuller across the central segment on both sides, disk guard and bound grip capped by spherical pommel (restorations to the entire grip, missing peg), in its wooden scabbard wrapped with chagreen and capped with a chape, two suspension holes in a ferrous spine reinforced by two bands (restorations throughout the scabbard), 70.5 cm blade
