A RITUAL HORN Tibet, 19th century Carved and painted horn and wood, of tapered crescent-shaped form, the lid in the form of a makara-head with gaping mouth and scrolling snout, the tapered end with fish(?) head finial 19cm long Horns of this type are known in Tibet as 'sorcerer's horns (Tib. 'thun rwa'). They were filled with mustard seeds and used in various magic rituals.
