with octagonal sighted rifled barrel retaining some blueing and engraved around the muzzle, serial numbered and engraved ‘Harvey’s Patent Breech Loading Revolving Pistol’ along the top flat, Birmingham proof marks, serial numbered cylinder numbered from ‘1’ to ‘6’ and engraved around the forward edge, border engraved action retaining traces of case-hardening and decorated with foliate scrollwork, enclosed hammer and engraved safety-stud on the left side, detachable combination tool and rammer with spring-catch and knurled tip, foliate scroll engraved trigger-guard, ovoidal butt-cap with foliate scroll engraved butt-trap cover, chequered figured rounded butt, and vacant silver escutcheon, 9.5 cm barrel
