the clock with an eight-day movement striking on a bell, backplate stamped in an oval 'BROCOT A PARIS' and numbered 258, pendulum correspondingly numbered, white enamel dial with blue Roman hours and Arabic five minutes, signed 'J.B. MARCHAND / R. RICHELIEU 59', with bayonet fitting beaded and glazed cover, the case with rich Louis XVI style ormolu mounts and a patinated bronze surmount of two small children looking through a book, the matching candelabra each with a patinated bronze putto holding up the three branches with urn sconces and detachable nozzles centred by a pinecone finial, with key, clock 42cm long, candelabra 48cm high
