the first an OR's helmet with black leather skull and peak, bi-metal plate, brass spike and base, back-strap and peak-binding, green/white state cockade to left-hand rosette, 8-tongued leather headband and worn leather chinstrap, national cockade absent; the second a Saxon artilleryman's pickelhaube, with grey-painted skull of felt or fibre, with a brass ball ornament and rayed star mounted with a white metal Maltese Cross bearing the crown and Arms of Saxony, cockades incorrect/missing, the interior stamped with date 1916
