Yousef Jaha is a prominent Saudi visual artist whose work is central to the development of contemporary abstraction within the Kingdom. Based in Makkah, his practice focuses on the intersection of landscape and formal abstraction, moving away from literal representation toward a study of colour, light, and spatial rhythm.

Jaha’s aesthetic is defined by a disciplined use of texture and a palette often inspired by the natural environments of the Hijaz region. His compositions frequently employ fluid, gestural brushwork to explore the structural elements of nature, distilling complex vistas into simplified forms. This approach allows for an emphasis on the emotive qualities of oil and acrylic, prioritising the balance of the canvas over decorative detail.

A long-standing figure in the Saudi art community, Jaha has participated in numerous domestic and international exhibitions, including showcases at Athr Gallery and various state-sponsored cultural initiatives. His career reflects a sustained commitment to the evolution of the Saudi art scene, contributing to a modern visual discourse that integrates regional identity with a universal abstract language. His work is held in several significant private and public collections throughout the Middle East.
