‡˜AN 18 BORE OTTOMAN MIQUELET-LOCK RIFLE (SHISHANA), TURKEY, LATE 18TH CENTURY with octagonal swamped sighted barrel retained by a single chased silver band, rifled with seven grooves, encrusted with silver scrolls at the muzzle and over the breech (losses), the latter with standing back-sight pierced with two apertures (areas of rust), flat lock decorated en suite, wooden full stock profusely inlaid with brass rondels and pellets over the fore-end, faceted butt decorated en suite within a framework of shaped ivory and green-stained horn plaques, faceted bud-shaped trigger, ivory fore-end cap, and associated ramrod 67.0 cm; 26 1/3 in barrel
