FOUR CHINESE COMPOSITE BOWS, QING DYNASTY, 19TH/20TH CENTURY

the first with reflexed limbs faced with horn on the belly painted black, the back covered with birch bark, fitted with string bridges and sinew-covered grip; the second with significant restorations throughout, painted red and green with dotted design on the ears (siyah); the third similar with green paint and wrapped grip; the fourth similar with brown paint and painted designs near the grip, the longest bow 96.0 cm long (4)
