ËœA MAMELUKE-HILTED SWORD BY HAWKES MOSELY & CO, MANUFACTURERS TO THE QUEEN, MID-19TH CENTURY with curved polished blade double-edged towards the point, etched with elaborate scrolling foliage on each face and with the maker's details at the forte on the reverse, iron cross-guard including quillons with button-shaped terminals, ivory grip retained by two pairs of rivets with engraved heads, in its iron scabbard with brass mounts cast in low relief (areas of pitting), with bullion sword knot 77.3 cm; 30 1/2in blade
