A WEDGWOOD QUEENSWARE 'BOTANICAL' PART DINNER SERVICE, CIRCA 1871

decorated in iron red with a variety of transfer printed specimens and each with a band of interlaced ovals below the line rim, comprising thirty-six dinner plates, twelve soup plates, seven side plates, seven oblong serving dishes in sizes, three vegetable dishes and two covers, a shaped square dish, a pedestal sauce tureen, cover and two stands, and a pedestal soup tureen, cover and stand, impressed 'WEDGWOOD' and three-letter date codes, painted A37 (75)

Wedgwood apparently first produced this pattern in blue-printed pearlware in about 1810, the prints predominantly adapted from illustrations in the long-running periodical 'Curtis's Botanical Magazine', Wedgwood later bringing out red and polychrome versions of the pattern.
