the rectangular case with gilt-metal activation slide to front, hinged compartment to rear concealing an associated key, winding aperture to underside and gilt-metal framed enamelled oval lid painted either side with mountainous lakeland scenes, the going barrel movement driving the pirouetting bird of exotic natural feathers with flapping wings and moving beak and a multi-note song rising from beneath finely pierced and engraved scroll foliate panelled grilles, in a red leather and cream lined case gilt stamped for the retailer Louis Desoutter of London, tortoiseshell box 10cm long (3)
