A SWEDISH CAVALRY OFFICER'S SWORD, 19TH CENTURY

probably for a Royal Horse Guards or Crown Princes Hussar, with slender pipe-backed blade etched over its lower portion, gilt-brass hilt cast in low relief, including oval langets decorated with trophies-of-arms, knuckle-guard with a pair of crossed flags and a brace of pistols, and the back-strap rising to a maned lionshead pommel, original wire-bound fishskin-covered grip, in its leather scabbard with large gilt-brass mounts decorated en suite with the hilt, 80.5 cm blade
