A CHINESE CARVED TORTOISESHELL SNUFF BOX, PROBABLY CANTON, QING DYNASTY, EARLY 19TH CENTURY of oblong pocket fitting form, the lid and sides reticular carved with figures, pavilions and boats amidst foliage, the base relief carved on a matted ground, with silver hinge 8cm long This curved shape of snuff box is found in English silver from about 1800-1825.
