A 1796 PATTERN INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD BY SAMUEL BRUNN, LONDON with regulation blade, etched and gilt with the crowned Royal cypher, crowned Royal arms and foliage on a blued panel on each side of the forte (light wear), gilt-brass regulation hilt with folding side-guard, the grip bound with plaited silver wire, in its scabbard, inscribed by the retailer 'S.Brunn, Sword Cutler to H.R.H. The Prince of Wales, 56 Charing Cross, London' 82cm; 32 1/4in blade Samuel Brunn was the leading Royal sword cutler of this period. He is recorded at 56 Charing Cross circa 1803-19. See L.
