Acquired as a gift from the artist, who was a personal friend, in the 1980s. Laila Shahzada was born in Sussex, but spent most of her life in Karachi and later, Islamabad, exhibiting in Karachi and in London. She died tragically at the age of 68 in a gas explosion in her studio.
