A PAIR OF VICTORIAN SILVER CASTERS, D. & J. WELLBY LTD., LONDON, 1897 in Rococo style, engraved with the Rous crest below an earl's coronet, profusely chased with flowerheads between curved flutes and lobes 20cm high, 451gr (14oz) (2) Provenance: (Robert) Keith Rous, 6th Earl of Stradbroke, Old Henham Hall, Suffolk, The Principal Contents, Prudential Fine Art Auctioneers, 10-12 October 1988, lot 249. The family's traditional motto is 'I live in hope': sometimes called 'the Aussie Earl', having fathered fifteen children, Keith Rous added another 'We fight like lions and breed like rabbits'.
