LUNG-TA, THE WIND HORSE, TIBET, CIRCA 19TH CENTURY cast bronze, the divine animal depicted in a spirited trot, the flaming wish-fulfilling jewel resting on his saddle, old copper sealing plate under belly 13.5cm high Invocation of the wind horse comes from an indigenous tradition which pre-dates Buddhism in Tibet and continued as part of a separate focus of devotion until relatively recent times when gradually all the various threads of Tibetan religious life had become intermingled. The wind horse represents good fortune and prosperity.
