A COMPOSITE SWORD, PROBABLY ITALIAN 17TH CENTURY in excavated condition, with broad flat blade cut with a short fuller, inlaid with a copper lined running wolf mark on one side and with traces of decoration at the forte, iron hilt formed of a pair of vertically recurved flat quillons (shell-guard removed), and solid iron grip rising to a stylised bird's head pommel 65.3cm; 25 3/4in blade
