in excavated condition, with broad flat blade cut with a short fuller, inlaid with a copper lined running wolf mark on one side and with traces of decoration at the forte, iron hilt formed of a pair of vertically recurved flat quillons (shell-guard removed), and solid iron grip rising to a stylised bird's head pommel
