A MEDIEVAL SWORD, CIRCA 1050-1150

in excavated condition, with broad flat slightly tapering double-edged blade formed with a fuller over its entire length (the last portion of approximately 12.0 cm missing, slightly bent in profile), iron cross-guard and strongly formed brazil nut pommel (pommel and guard perhaps associated), 82.0 cm blade

The blade conforms to Oakeshott type XII.
