A SCOTTISH DIRK, FIRST QUARTER OF THE 18TH CENTURY in excavated condition, with straight single-edged blade cut with a short slender fuller on each side, retaining some of its rootwood grip carved with basketweave designs, lightly engraved brass cap pommel retained by a square iron button, and the blade applied with a brass plaque inscribed 'Given by Canon Petrie M. A. found at Old Leanach Culloden Moor 1920' 38.5cm; 15 1/8in
