A CHINESE IVORY PAPER KNIFE, CANTON, MID 19TH CENTURY the handle openwork and relief carved with birds, insects and a flowering branch, the blade with figures in a pavilion garden setting 37cm long Collection of Ivory from the Marquesses of Dalhousie. The collection was started by James Broun Ramsay, 1st Marquess of Dalhousie and Governor General of India in 1848 -1856 and subsequently added to by other members of the family.
