the four-armed Hindu goddess seated with legs loosely crossed on a raised stool, carrying a sword, bowl of fruit(?), trident and discus, with long waving hair and tall headdress

Bhadrakali ('Auspicious Kali') despite being one of the awesome forms of Devi, often has a relatively benign appearance, with her fierce attributes in this case only gently hinted at with her almost decorative flaming hair and flower-like trident. For a Chola period bronze Bhadrakali from South India in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, see inv. no. M.83.48
