A CHINESE ARCHAIC BRONZE WINE VESSEL, HU, EASTERN ZHOU DYNASTY, WARRING STATES PERIOD (475-221BC)

the pear-shaped body rising from a short slightly rounded foot, cast around the exterior with five leiwen bands, the plain waisted neck set with a pair of buffalo mask handles, each suspending a loop-and-bar chain attached to a dragon-headed arched handle, further attached to a pair of rings and the slightly domed cover, 40cm high

Provenance: Acquired in Hong Kong in the 1980's.
