A COMPOSITE ENGLISH CAVALRY SWORD, CIRCA 1780-90 with slightly curved Sardinian blade double-edged at the point, engraved with the crowned eagle of Savoy and the inscription 'Vive Le Roy de Sardaigne', and iron half-basket hilt of flattened bars (later pommel and grip) 91.5cm; 36in bladeProvenance: Warwick Castle, inv. no.
