**AN INDO-PERSIAN HELMET (KULAH KHUD), 19TH CENTURY with hemispherical skull embossed with a series of delicate ribs and fitted with a central foliate boss (spike missing), decorated over its surface with sprays of gold koftgari scrolling and conventional foliage, and with a series of inscriptions in gold, including Persian benedictory verses, around the brim, fitted with a pair of plume-holders and sliding nasal-bar (minor replacements, areas of pitting), and with a mail neck defence of butted links 11.5cm; 4 1/2in high
