A BRASS HAMSA (MYTHICAL GOOSE) FIGURE, SOUTH INDIA, 18TH CENTURY probably originally an oil lamp finial, with engraved stylised plumage 13.5cm high Zoomorphic vessels, and in particular decorative finials for oil vessels, are strongly characteristic of metalwork from South Central India.
