G VENKATESH RAO, INDIAN, A TIGER, DATED 1913, oil on canvas, signed and dated lower right, framed, painting 40cm x 30cm, framed 50cm x 40cm
Venkatesh Rao is best known for his depictions of Hindu deities, published as oleographs by the Ravi Varma Press. In 1922, he presented a portrait of King George V to the Prince of Wales and this is now in the Royal Collection (RCIN 406686).Â
