ASSORTED ITEMS TO THE ROYAL SCOTS

ASSORTED ITEMS TO THE ROYAL SCOTS a rope-tensioned brass tenor drum, complete with both skins, painted with the blazon of 4th/5th Battalion, the title scroll inscribed 4TH/5TH BN THE ROYAL SCOTS (QUEEN'S EDINBURGH) and displaying battle honours to PALESTINE 1917 -18 (paintwork of the blazon defective); a pipe-banner of Hunting Stewart tartan with black tasselled edging, both sides bearing an appliqué blue silk shield embroidered with the regimental badge, between two scrolls inscribed THE ROYAL SCOTS and THE ROYAL REGIMENT; a Piper's white horsehair sporran with two black tassels in thistle-embossed sockets, black leather cantle with silver plated edging, mounted with cast white metal badge of St Andrew, flanked by thistle sprays, above the regimental title; another horsehair sporran with black tassels in plain sockets, the nickel-plated cantle with a cartouche between embossed thistle sprays (badge now missing from cartouche) and an Aynsley china ashtray with silver rim (hallmarks illegible), painted with the regimental badge (5)
