A RARE GERMAN PISTOL CROSSBOW FOR A CHILD, FIRST HALF OF THE 18TH CENTURY, POSSIBLY SAXON with slender steel bow stamped with the maker's mark (Neue Støckel 6451) fitted with later string and retained by early cords, long wooden tiller hollowed for the cheek, fitted with steel bolt channel incorporating a short sighted barrel, iron nut, rectangular back-sight, long slender iron trigger, safety-catch, and iron stirrup 46.5cm; 18 1/4in tiller
