A 6 BORE PRUSSIAN MILITARY FLINTLOCK RAMPART GUN, MID-18TH CENTURY, THE STOCK WITH LATER HIGHLY DECORATED HORN VENEER
with heavy tapering sighted barrel formed in three stages and with a prominent lug beneath, regulation Potsdam stepped lock stamped 'S&D' for Splittgerber & Daum, full stock almost entirely covered in engraved cow horn plaques decorated with woodland scenes inhabited by mounted hunters in pursuit of stag, boar and exotic beasts including an elephant, giraffe, lion and a tiger, the butt decorated en suite (small chips and minor losses), iron mounts of military type including trigger-guard, side-plate and butt-plate, and iron ramrod, probably the original
