AN ITALIAN HALBERD, LATE 16TH CENTURY with long central spike of diamond section, forward-leaning curved axe-blade with reinforced tip, formed with a rounded lug behind the blade at the top and bottom and pierced with two cross-shaped apertures, triangular rear fluke pierced with five circles, reinforced tip, and struck with a mark on one side, tapering socket, and a pair of straps, on a later wooden haft (the head cleaned) 103.2cm; 40 5/8in head The mark is the same as that on the previous lot
