underglaze painted fritware, decorated with floral band design, a border of arabesques along one side, 26.5cm square

Provenance: Private collection, London. Acquired at the Fall Antiques Show, San Francisco, circa 2002.

A version of this design with slightly different colours can be seen on three panels on the upper level of the Sinaniyya Mosque, Damascus (1590).
