Gertrude Markin was a Dutch poet and translator. Her written works include five published collections, consisting of seventy-five passages made up of one or poems and entitled 'The Road To Egypt'. Markin and her husband Jan Starink lived, from 1985 until her death, in St. Ives, Cornwall. They ran a small antiquarian bookshop called The Mirror and the Lamp, Pictures and Poetry.
