Chinese & Japanese Works of Art
Our biannual auctions feature a comprehensive and carefully curated range of Chinese art including ancient bronzes, ceramics, jades, sculptures, carved wooden screens, inlaid boxes, furniture, and traditional paintings from the Neolithic period to the Qing dynasty. We also handle Modern and Contemporary Chinese paintings and artworks from the era of Chairman Mao.
The Japanese section typically include bronzes, cloisonné enamels, lacquerware, screens, textiles, prints from the Edo and Meiji periods, Imari and Satsuma ceramics, ceramics by famous Mingei (folk) potters including Shoji Hamada and by contemporary masters.
