Having previously worked within the African Modern & Contemporary Department at Sotheby's, Elikem brings extensive expertise across academia, research, and the art market. His research interests span the politico-cultural, legal, and intellectual history of West Africa, with a particular focus on modernism and its postcolonial trajectories. He holds an MA in Art History and Management and an MLitt in Legal and Constitutional Studies from the University of St Andrews, as well as an MSc in African Studies from the University of Oxford. Elikem is also active at the forefront of art historical discourse, contributing to research initiatives such as the Argyll Project, and has spoken at the Oxford Africa Summit. He has lectured at both Christie’s Education and Sotheby’s Institute of Art.
