A CONTINENTAL EPEE DU COMBAT, AND A FRENCH MODEL 1866 CHASSEPOT BAYONET, BOTH 19TH CENTURY

the first with slender tapering blade of hollow diamond section etched with Klingenthal manufactory detail on one side at the forte, dish-shaped guard, rounded pommel with tall tang button, and wire-bound fabric-covered grip; the second of regulation pattern with ribbed copper alloy grip, in its steel scabbard (red surface rust, blade inscription polished off), 87.0 cm and 57.5 cm blades (2)
