A pupil of Injalbert and Vital Cornu at the Beaux-arts and an ‘hors concours’ member of the Salon des Artistes, Bardery received a grant in 1911 to travel to North Africa, subsequently executing a number of ‘Orientalist’ themed works, receiving the prize of the Société Coloniale des Artistes Français pour l'Algérie and showing at the Paris Exposition Coloniale in 1931.
